ICC facilitates workshop in Lira district

Representatives of civil society networks and clan leaders from the Ugandan districts of Apac, Lira and Oyam have agreed to disseminate information about the ICC at the grassroots. The decision was reached today during a two-day workshop held in Lira town on 30 and 31 October.

Officials from the ICC facilitated the workshop organised by the Uganda Coalition for the International Criminal Court (UCICC). It intended to create awareness about the ICC, the international justice system and collate information on traditional justice amongst communities in the Lango region.

The facilitators, from the Registry, and the workshop organisers distributed informational materials on the themes discussed. It was attended by thirty participants.
