ICC facilitates workshop in Adjumani district

ICC-CPI-20061028-170

On 27 and 28 October 2006, the International Criminal Court (ICC) facilitated a sensitisation workshop for representatives of civil society organisations, traditional leaders and victims from the districts of Adjumani, Moyo, and Yumbe. The workshop, which took place in Adjumani town, was organised by the Uganda Coalition for the International Criminal Court (UCICC).

The participants included representatives from community social organisations, cultural leaders, district officials and victims from the west Nile region. They agreed to disseminate information about the ICC at the grassroots.

The workshop aimed to create awareness about the ICC, the international justice system and collate information on traditional justice amongst the communities in the West Nile region.

Thirty participants attended the workshop. The facilitators, from the Registry, and the workshop organisers distributed informational materials on the themes discussed at the workshop.
