The ASP President expresses concern over recent media reports regarding the ongoing disciplinary process involving the ICC Prosecutor
The President of the Assembly of States Parties expresses concern at the recent media reporting concerning the ongoing disciplinary process regarding the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. The disciplinary process before the Bureau is ongoing and remains confidential. No decisions have been taken, and no weight should be given to or conclusions drawn from media speculations.
Currently, the Bureau is considering the investigative report of the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) together with the advisory report of the ad hoc Panel of Independent Judicial Experts pursuant to the Bureau’s responsibility as the competent decision-maker and consistent with the legal framework of the Court.
The matters are complex, and the Bureau is working diligently to make its decision in a proper manner and without delay with full respect for the due process rights and privacy of all persons affected.
The President of the Assembly of States Parties continues to call for due respect for the privacy and the rights of all parties concerned, as well as the integrity of the ongoing process.
The Assembly of States Parties is the management oversight and legislative body of the ICC. It is comprised of representatives of States that have ratified and acceded to the Rome Statute.

La Presidenta de la Asamblea de los Estados Partes expresa su preocupación por los recientes informes de los medios de comunicación sobre el proceso disciplinario en curso con respecto al Fiscal de la Corte Penal Internacional. El proceso disciplinario ante la Mesa se mantiene en curso y sigue siendo confidencial. No se ha adoptado ninguna decisión, y no debe otorgarse peso alguno a las especulaciones mediáticas ni extraerse conclusiones de ellas.
Actualmente, la Mesa está considerando el informe de investigación de la Oficina de Servicios de Supervisión Interna (OSSI), junto con el informe consultivo del Panel ad hoc de Expertos Judiciales Independientes, en el marco de su responsabilidad como órgano competente para la adopción de decisiones y de conformidad con el marco jurídico de la Corte.
Los asuntos son complejos, y la Mesa está trabajando con diligencia para adoptar su decisión de manera adecuada y sin demora, con pleno respeto a los derechos del debido proceso y de la privacidad de todas las personas afectadas.
La Presidenta de la Asamblea de los Estados Partes reitera su llamamiento a respetar plenamente la privacidad y los derechos de todas las partes involucradas, así como la integridad del proceso en curso.
La Asamblea de los Estados Partes es el órgano de supervisión administrativa y legislativa de la CPI. Está compuesta por representantes de los Estados que han ratificado o se han adherido al Estatuto de Roma.
