Geoffrey Nice, QC (UK) is a Principal Trial Attorney at the ICTY, where he leads the prosecution of Slobodan Milosevic. Mr. Nice joined the ICTY in 1998 and headed the case against Kordic, Cerkez and Jelisic, which was the first genocide case to reach a conclusion at the Tribunal.
Until recently he combined his work at the ICTY with his position as a Head of Chambers at 1 Temple Gardens, specialising in civil work including major disasters, government inquiries, as well as personal injury and litigation cost work.
From 1995 to 2001 Mr. Nice was a member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board that was awarding compensation to victims of crimes. From 1971 to 2001 he was a member of the barristers’ chambers at Farrar’s Building (London) where he dealt with complex criminal cases, personal injury and judicial review.
