Judge Adel Maged is currently Counsellor at the Egyptian Court of Appeals, on secondment to the Ministry of Justice of the United Arab Emirates, as Legal Advisor on International (Criminal) Law and Treaty Affairs. Judge Maged is also Special Advisor to the Islamic Criminal Justice Project, Centre for Criminal Law and Criminal Justice, Durham University, and lecturer in international criminal law at the Institute for Training & Judicial Studies, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Previously, he was Counsellor at the General Department of Legislation at the Egyptian Ministry of Justice and Chief Prosecutor at the Criminal Division of the Court of Cassation, the supreme judicial level in Egypt. Judge Maged holds a Bachelor of Law from Alexandria University, Egypt, and an L.L.M. degree on Internationalization of Crime and Criminal Justice from Utrecht University, The Netherlands.
