Mr. Joseph Rikhof teaches International Criminal Law at the University of Ottawa while he is also a senior counsel, Manager of the Law with the Crimes against Humanity and War Crimes Section of the Department of Justice, Canada. He was a visiting professional with the ICC in 2005. He has a BCL, University of Nijmegen, Netherlands; a LL.B, McGill University; a Diploma in Air and Space Law, McGill University; and a PhD, Irish Center for Human Rights. He has written over 40 articles as well two books, The Criminal Refugee: The Treatment of Asylum Seekers with a Criminal Background in International and Domestic Law and, with Robert Currie as co-author, International and Transnational Criminal Law, Second Edition.
