Dr. Andrew Corin is a Research Officer with the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY). He conducts research into the political, administrative and security structures of the former Yugoslavia as well as the roles of members of its leadership for the purpose of identifying persons most responsible for serious violations of international humanitarian law. He also assists in the selection, review and preparation of expert witnesses, devoting considerable attention to the articulation of relevant guidelines.
Dr. Corin was trained as a specialist in Slavic linguistics and Slavic cultural history. Before joining the ICTY in 1999, he was Adjunct Associate Professor of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of California, Los Angeles (USA).
His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at UCLA. He is the author of the book The New York Missal: A Paleographic and Phonetic Analysis (1991) and numerous articles and papers.
