The Presidency of the Assembly of States Parties welcomes Hungary’s decision to remain a State Party to the Rome Statute
The Presidency of the Assembly of States Parties welcomes the announcement of the Government of Hungary that it will discontinue the process of withdrawal from the Rome Statute and remain a State Party to the Statute.
The Presidency further congratulates the Government of Hungary for this important decision, which is essential to our shared objective of ensuring accountability for the gravest crimes, strengthening the international legal order, and supporting multilateral institutions.
The Assembly of States Parties is the management oversight and legislative body of the ICC. It is comprised of representatives of States that have ratified and acceded to the Rome Statute. The Presidency of the Assembly is currently composed of President H.E. Ms Päivi Kaukoranta (Finland), and Vice-Presidents, H.E. Mr Michael Kanu (Sierra Leone), and H.E. Ms Margareta Kassangana (Poland).

La Presidencia de la Asamblea de los Estados Partes acoge con satisfacción el anuncio del Gobierno de Hungría según el cual Hungría pondrá fin al proceso de retirada del Estatuto de Roma y seguirá siendo Estado Parte del mismo.
La Presidencia felicita igualmente al Gobierno de Hungría por esta importante decisión, que es esencial para nuestro objetivo común de garantizar la rendición de cuentas por los crímenes más graves, fortalecer el orden jurídico internacional y apoyar las instituciones multilaterales.
La Asamblea de los Estados Partes es el principal órgano administrativo y legislativo de la CPI. Está compuesta por representantes de los Estados que han ratificado o se han adherido al Estatuto de Roma. La Presidencia de la Asamblea está actualmente a cargo de la Presidenta, S.E. Sra. Päivi Kaukoranta (Finlandia), y los Vicepresidentes, S.E. Sr. Michael Imran Kanu (Sierra Leona) y S.E. Sra. Margareta Kassangana (Polonia).
