Press Release
The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to hold second public hearings with States and NGOs
ICC-OTP-20060920-162
In September and October 2006 Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo of the International Criminal Court will hold a second public hearing in The Hague and New York with States and Non-Governmental Organizations. Additional sessions may be organized.
The sessions in The Hague will be held on 25 September 2006 (for interested states) and on 26 September 2006 (for NGOs and other experts).
The first public hearing of the Office of the Prosecutor, held in June 2003, was devoted to discussing the regulations, policies and plans of the Office.
Three years later, and with a great deal more operational experience, the Prosecutor has decided to organize a second set of public hearings in order to provide information and increase awareness about the work of the Office in its first three years and to discuss priorities for the next three years. The Office of the Prosecutor has prepared draft reports on its activities in the first three years and on the prosecutorial strategy which will serve as a starting point for the discussion at the hearings. The Office of the Prosecutor will take into consideration the comments received during the second public hearing in finalizing these documents.
- Report on the activities performed during the first three years (June 2003 - June 2006)
- Report on Prosecutorial Strategy
