Deputy for Prosecutions Being Sought

The Office of the Prosecutor is seeking to fill the last elected post within the International Criminal Court. The position is that of Deputy Prosecutor for the Prosecution Division, in the Office of the Prosecutor.
The Prosecutor is to submit a shortlist of three candidates to the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute, which will elect one of the three as Deputy Prosecutor in its September 2004 session. Another Deputy Prosecutor, Serge Brammertz, head of the Investigation Division, was elected by the Assembly in September 2003. The Prosecutor and Judges of the Court were also elected by the Assembly earlier that year.
