In Focus
In the Philippines, Outreach works with partners to deliver information on the ICC’s mandate and jurisdiction, the status of the Office of the Prosecutor’s investigations, and on the role of victims in the Rome Statute system. Information reaches affected communities in the local spoken languages.
Mindful of the security concerns, PIOS is maintaining an open channel of communication with partners on the ground and organizing – in cooperation with other sections and organs of the Court – information sessions on the mandate and jurisdiction of the ICC, the status of the investigations being conducted by the Office of the Prosecutor and the role of victims in the Rome Statute system.
PIOS has been developing messages and distributing timely information on relevant judicial developments and translations of public documents in local languages aimed at the general public.
In the ICC’s Duterte case, PIOS is engaging with the media and local partners on judicial developments in the case, and providing news and updates in a timely manner.
